How it works
A cross-sectional online survey of 1,071 Slovenian adults (18+) was conducted between November 2019 and February 2020 using quota sampling by age, gender, and NUTS2 region. The EQ-5D-5L descriptive system, EQ VAS, and index score were used. The index score was derived using the Slovenian EQ-5D-3L tariff mapped via crosswalk methodology to 5L. Mean EQ VAS was 79.9, mean utility index was 0.808. Health status decreased with age, except for anxiety/depression, which was higher in younger groups and in women. Regional differences were observed, with Western Slovenia showing higher utility scores.

- Assumptions
- The online panel sample is representative of the Slovenian general population; crosswalk methodology adequately transforms EQ-3D-3L tariffs to EQ-5D-5L.
- Strengths
- Nationally representative sample using quota sampling; includes detailed breakdowns by age, gender, region, and education; uses standardized EQ-5D-5L instrument.
- Limitations
- Online survey may introduce selection bias; utility scores derived via crosswalk rather than Slovenian EQ-5D-5L value set; self-reported data subject to reporting bias.
